Election Day

Nov 07, 2006 10:04

I had a whole (well almost) entry that I wrote last night which lj didn't save. Grrr!!
So today's Election Day, and I'm really excited. Don't know why. Maybe it's because I finally get to vote in an important election, accesibly I might add. Or maybe it's because the results of today could change the way this country is going, hopefully for the better. Whatever it is, I'm really excited. I'm going out to vote later, probably after Mom gets home from work. Don't forget to do the same!! Voting is the right and duty of every American, and if you really want the policies of this country to change, you have to get out there and let the powers that be know.
In other news, the painting of the main floor of our house continues, though it should be done later today, or tomorrow at the latest. Yesterday Dad accidentally knocked over a tray of paint and Franny went traipsing through it. She has yellow paws now. Cute!! Yesterday we also got our shiny new fridge. It's really big, with a whole bunch of drawers and compartments for food and a freezer that opens up on the bottom. It also has a working ice and water dispenser, which is a nice change. Mom calls it the Lexus of fridges, and I agree.
Last weekend was uneventful. I did work, watched March of the Penguins (most adorable movie ever) and went to BKG. This week the only other people there were Carmen, Chris K, and Carly. Small, but nice. Yesterday I did some pre-election phone banking at NYPURG. I had to call people and remind them to vote, and tell them to bring two forms of ID with them if it was their first time. I mostly got people's voicemails, and most of the ones I actually talked to didn't hang up on me.
GCast, the service I use to host my podcast, is driving me crazy. For the past few months, every recording I've uploaded has come out very speedy. I tried recording in stereo and changing the sample and bit rates and got the same results. I sent a not-so-friendly email to GCast support asking for more help. Hopefully we can get this resolved, I really want to publish something soon. If any of you have any ideas, let me know.
Erin's coming home after this semester. WOOT!!!!
Go out and rock that vote!!
