So, the plan for this week was to go to visit our friends in New York (state not city), leaving Tuesday night and arriving Wednesday evening. It's nine - ten hours of driving, so I figured spreading it out with a motel en route would be the easiest thing.

So things are hectic around here still.

Has it really been that long since I posted? Hmm. Yes, I'm busy. Very distracted and very tired.

One of the reasons for that has been Sprog's birthday. His actual birthday is on Wednesday (still need to wrap presents, and oh my god, I've not bought a card yet!), but his party was on Saturday.

So my husband's away for a few days in Germany which I thought would be a great time to catch up on the posts I've not got round to making. I have never wanted to be the type of mother who wraps her children in cotton wool. Let them take the risk, learn the lesson... that's my philosophy. As it turns out, sometimes they'll take the risk and I'll learn a lesson too.

Yard sale was a complete fiasco. I think our neighbours did all right, but most of the families who came had children no younger than Sprog, so all our baby stuff was wasted on them. We made a grand total of $10, and that was from some clothes. Not one of the large items sold, so we still haven't cleared the space.

Home! Something we're relieved for and saddened by. It was a great holiday, but it had reached that point (at least the nights, with the children waking each other up, had) where we needed our home space and routine again.
