Setting Em Up And Knockin' Em Down

Aug 28, 2006 00:54

I am currently reducing the next week down to a series of tasks to be accomplished in preparation for Operation: Vacation Storm.

Today we rolled into Bev' Hills to help eowyn797 build the majority of her makeup kit for the trip. (We have also been researching how to pull off Jack's look if I should decide to make it my halloween thing. Why not? As long as we're both looking at makeup, and I'm not artistic enough yet to paint my girlfriend with it, I might as well make it useful.)

We both have our unlocked cellphones, our UK-based SIM chips, our working mp3 players (with backup battery packs), matching backpacks (I know, ew, right? Ha Ha), two adapter plugs, and various other usefuls.

I'm not going to get the chance to stop by my parents' house again before we leave, so I have to mail them a USB drive that contains a backup of my mother's club roster information in a MS Access database (shut up, my loving geek friends). I'm sending it to her so that she has a backup, and she can take it to someone else if she needs it revised. (Good luck to whoever tries to figure out what I did, since I "designed" it over three years ago and it's been in dire need of restructuring the whole time. There are forms that lay out the info a little bit better than the tables, but it's still a steep learning curve. I think I accidentally made it difficult for my parents to fire me.)

While we are at the post office, we will also need to have them start holding our mail.

There is still much packing to be done, laundry to be folded, etc. I know there are other things I'm just not thinking of right now too.

She will be dropping her car off at her father's, and Ra will be driving us (in my car) to the airport next Tuesday. (It feels nearer, saying that, since it's technically Monday here now.)

I have one full week of work left before we depart.

Holy shit I'm excited.

Postscript: I have been informed that our backpacks are NOT matching, as they are NOT the same color.
