Opening Credits:
"Americana" by the Offspring.
Waking Up:
"Go the Distance" from the Disney movie Hercules. Pretty good, if standard, motivational song.
First Day At School:
"Heroin girl" by Everclear. Losing myself in a white trash hell, pierced nipples, and drug overdoses. Yeah, that's about how I remember school at first.
Falling In Love:
This actually came up as "Ms. Cleo Call 4", a prank phone call I got somewhere. Since it wasn't a song, I moved on to the next item, which was "It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy. It was a strange relationship.
Breaking Up:
"Titanic Selections" by Jonas Nordwall. This is bits and pieces from the movie, but played on a Wurlitzer Organ (which happens to reside at a pizza parlor in Mesa). It kinda works for breaking up, with sad whimsical tunes and bagpipes and such.
Prom:
"Rockin the Suburbs" by Ben Folds, which is absolutely fine in my opinion.
Life's Ok:
"April 29, 1992" by Sublime. Riots are okay with me.
Mental Breakdown:
"E.S.P" by Miles Davis. I like drawing a connection between improvised jazz and mental breakdowns, I imagine they would go well together. If I ever have a breakdown I'll try to write a song and see how it comes out.
Driving:
"King of New Orleans" by Better than Ezra. Eh, alright for driving in a happy, windows-rolled-down-in-summer way.
Breaking Up:
"If Things Were Perfect" by Moby. Moby's songs are hard for me to tell apart by memory, so I'll assume that there are no lyrics and going on the title, it's perfect.
Getting Back Together:
"I Can Still Make Cheyenne" by George Strait. Possiby the worst song I could think of for this category.
Birth of Child:
"Settle for Satan" by Alkaline Trio. I haven't actually ever listened to this CD and am not sure where I got it, but it sounds like a fun kid to me.
Wedding Scene:
"Acoustic No. 3" by the Goo Goo Dolls. Depressing.
Final Battle:
"Jesus Freak" by dcTalk. This gets point for being incredibly kick-ass, even if it is a christian song (which are usually anything but kick-ass-ish).
Death Scene:
"Qui-Gon's Noble End" by John Williams. PERFECT!!! This is the song that's playing in Star Wars Episode 1 when Darth Maul kills Qui-Gon, and I also deserve to die by special-effects orgy.
Funeral Song:
"Guerilla Radio" by Rage Against the Machine. Who wants a boring funeral? Besides, I think my life soundtrack would be incomplete without some Rage Against the Machine.
End Credits:
"Several Ways to Die Trying" by Dashboard Confessional. Pretty good winding down music if you ask me.
I cheated as well, I shuffled until I got a list without any repeated artists, plus my music player is biased towards certain songs. Oh well.
