Great weekend.

Friday night, Mike and I went to dinner with his Mom and Stepdad. We had to give them their souvenirs from the Kansas trip. They went over pretty well. We ended up having Chinese and it was awful. At least mine was. Oh well. Then we headed over to the local ice cream parlor because I had to have a Strawberry Shortcake. Again, bad choice. Not the best one I've ever had. Blah! So we went home. I don't recall what we did after that. I want to say we stayed up and watched some Family Guy or something.

In case anyone was curious, I met the world's best phlebotomist on Friday afternoon. I didn't feel a thing. She is a goddess...

Saturday, woke up early to go to breakfast with Dad. As always, pretty entertaining. Learned a LOT about what's going on in his life. It's amazing what taking a week off will do. I felt so out of the loop. He's decided to keep the house, he is definitely re-marrying Gail on April 21st (their original anniversary) next year in California and apparently her kids have forgiven my Dad for everything.

The rest of the day Saturday was spent goofing off. We had lunch with Scott, another terrible meal in my opinion, but hey, whatcha gonna do? We took Scott home and then Mike and I went back to the apartment and had a nice, long talk. I won't go into details here because to be honest, I've got a new view on my personal life. Some parts of it should actually stay personal. Imagine that. lol I'll leave it at the fact that yes, it was a SERIOUS conversation and yes, we are still together after the fact.

We decided to brave the crowds and check out the new Wal-Mart. I have to admit that I thought it would be exactly like every other location. I was soooo wrong. It's unbelievable. It reminded me quite a bit of the old Hypermarts. So we did a little grocery shopping and Mike finally bought a new blender and a tea maker. We've used the blender to make Kahlua Mudslides and we'll most likely use the tea maker tonight. We spent the rest of Saturday night on the couch watching TV until we were interrupted around 9:30 for a quick "pop over" visit to Chris and Kristina's (sister and brother in law's place). Again, we were giving folks their Kansas souvenirs. Kristina fell in love with hers. It's name is Lucy and she is the perfect, little lamb. Too cute. We stayed for a bit and watched the trailer for Sin City so naturally we want to see it now. Especially since I found out Alexis Bledel is in it too. We borrowed a couple of DVDs from the Sweeties and headed home.

Sunday we did our traditional brunch at Blue Mesa and then proceeded to run a few errands. I had every intention of going to a jewelry show at lindalee_'s place but we got started on the errands, couldn't stop and before we knew it, it was 6 o'clock. Unreal. I still don't have any shoes I can wear with my gauchos to work but other than that, it was definitely a fruitful trip out. We were exhausted by the end of the day. So we ordered in a pizza, stayed home and watched Robots and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (one of my new favorites, I'm a HUGE Beatles fan). We capped off the night with some Family Guy and all was good. Really good. I went to bed with a slight tummy ache, Mike made me song ginger tea and it settled down. I went to bed around 11:30 and he stayed up and played Tony Hawk for a bit. I have no idea what time he came to bed but I woke up at 1 a.m. to go to the bathroom and he was already in bed. Sometime in the middle of the night he started having stomach trouble too. His wasn't the same as mine but I think triggered by the same thing. Stupid pizza. :P

This week should be interesting. I have 12 appointments set up for this project at work. I'm supposed to have 15. I'm calling the client today to discuss everything and see if she's happy or upset with our progress and get a gauge for how much longer I'll be needed. I'm desperate to get back to the Journalism side of my job. Thank the Lord.

I'm taking a 1/2 day on Thursday. It's hard to believe it's been 5 years since my Grandpa died. I try and take time off every year at this time to be with my Dad. Since he and Grandpa were so close, it makes sense for me to at least try and be there for him. I am all he has left, family wise. So we'll probably do lunch and then a trip to the cemetery. From there, I don't really know. Since the cemetery is kind of out in the middle of nowhere, it's hard to tell what will happen next. But hopefully the weather will be decent for us. We don't stay very long.

I guess I should go and start my day. I will respond to comments as soon as I can but with the monitoring and all, it will be tough aside from lunchtime and after hours.

Love you all!
