Its amazing that the cold front that was moving east towards Sandy had stalled two nights ago right over top of Western New York. And all of this has lead to saturated ground from light to moderate rain falling almost nonstop (there was a break last night) causing NWS to issue wind warnings, flood watches and a particular focus on the fact the wind will be coming from atypical direction from the North. So there's an expectation of trees being blown over more than usual.
We shall see how this all turns out but its looking really nasty for the Mid-Atlantic states.
