summer days, slippin away, but oh-oh! those summer nights...

So I don't really know much of Grease. But that was the only song with summer in the title that I could think of at the moment.

I haven't updated in a while, I guess I just haven't had a whole lot to say. Summer has been really nice so far. I haven't seen a lot of friends, but a lot of friends aren't here this summer. I'm really loving working at Hunter Street. The people I'm around are so much fun, and it's good hands on experience with stuff they don't teach you in methods classes, like sound equipment and planning concerts and coordinating private lessons and dealing with difficult people. I'm learning a lot and enjoying it--what more can you want out of an internship? Well, besides more money, but then again I'm getting $10 an hour for almost every family I babysit for, so I'm not complaining about money too much.

As for the summer goals, I'm doing pretty good. I have given up on running outside, it's too dadgum hot and it's not worth it. I can go run on a treadmill or the elliptical machine at the ROC and burn the same calories. I can't run in 90 degree weather. I don't need to lose weight that bad. But I am working out 3-4 times a week and even using the scary weight machines so that is pretty good, right? And I am playing piano at least a decent amount. I'm not good about actually practicing, I just want to play. Thanks to Laura, I am now the proud possessor of the sheet music to the theme from "Pride & Prejudice" and I LOVE it!! Yay!! I finished "Poisonwood Bible" and highly recommend it, and have moved on to "The Fountainhead." It's 700 pages long. And I may not make it through the whole thing, because right now Rand just kind of says the same things in different ways and through different characters over and over. Maybe it will get more interesting. We'll see. I borrowed some classical CDs from the library today (some Beethoven symphonies and Robert Shaw's "Choral Masterpieces," really excited about that) and plan to burn them. I blame Phillip. What else was there? Oh, the scrapbook! It's coming along nicely. :o) I love scrapbooking. I love the pictures, and putting all my memories in one place, organizing everything, and I love feeling creative. Ha.

I'm having fun being with my family too. I am so blessed, and I really have missed being around Griffin and Rebecca lately. They're such good kids, I just can't believe they're so old!! Rebecca's getting her driver's permit soon, and Griffin graduates next year. I know. Try not to fall out of your seat. It makes me feel so old!!

On that note, two of my best friends in the world got engaged this month. Granted, they are older than me. But one of them I have known since middle school!! I was 12 when we met!! I can't believe it. It's so crazy. I'll be going to like a million weddings next summer. Geez.

I can't really think of anything else...I'm going to be leading high school girls Bible Study, that's exciting...I want to go to the beach...nothing else really new. So happy summer to everyone, and goodnight. Or afternoon. Or something.
