No Vacation...Just Lazy

Hey, I might as well be honest about it, since I'm sure a whole...one or two of you were curious as to where I was. There really isn't much of a secret behind it all. I HAVE been active with a few things, but nothing that couldn't have kept me from pinning up some new stuff, especially counting yesterday, since my Algebra class was canceled. Surprisingly I wasn't TOTALLY happy about this, namely because there was an exam I was meant to be taking. It's now on Monday, and while that gives me more time to study up, I was in the "get shit done" mindset. Nevertheless, school's been going well, and it's only a few weeks from ending into a nice two week break. In all honesty though, I'm gonna kinda miss the lab part of Chemistry. Somehow I've kinda cozied my way into a little Tuesday routine. I get a little cup of coffee from the commissary, slip into the classroom, sit through a little lecturing and then diddle around in lab and, in most cases, get out rather early. Minus the "having to go to work" thing, this day ranks just behind Friday and Thursday. Well...Thursdays where I'm NOT in the math lab for 3 fucking hours, as with last Thursday. Goddamn review.

So as for the miscellaneous otherwise, I finally got Mikey his birthday present. I kinda just went with something he wanted and got him a Windrider Cub plushie thing (it's a WoW thing for those of you just kinda scratching your head). It's basically a stuffed animal that comes with a redeemable code to have the same thing as an in-game NPC. His reaction was kinda funny, admittedly. I've never seen a 23-year-old man so excited to get a stuffed toy. Nevertheless, if he enjoyed it, more power to him. The one thing he DIDN'T enjoy, was the video card he ordered for his tower. Seems I'll be uninstalling that tomorrow morning to be sent back, since it allegedly is making his framerate WORSE. Go figure that one. As for me, I'm expecting a call from High Desert bicycles tomorrow, with the likely good news that my ordered bike has arrived and has been built. Now I'm not 100% sure I'm gonna BUY it, but I know it's gonna be essentially customized to my behemoth figure (height-wise) and really, it looks pretty damn cool. It IS a little pricey, but I'm not trying to skimp and wind up with some kinda fucked up back problem or knee blowout or something. Besides, I think they have some kinda layaway plan.

That being said, I've actually thought of doing the diving thing, partially in relevance to Steve's constant (allegedly jovial) pestering. To be honest, it's one of those things I'd really like to do - you know, since I liked doing it when I did it - but beyond vacation, I dunno when the hell I'd ever really wind up using it for. Still, it's just a thought...along with all the other ones rolling up and around in my twisted mind. At least I already know of ONE thing I'm doing that I can put to practical use, and that's karate. With tragic irony, I'm actually of the belief I won't be testing this time. In reality, that shouldn't be a really bad thing, per se. My big issue with it was, I pretty much went though almost every form I know last night, and after a second showing of my Dragon Form, I was told by my instructor that it had "no life to it." The worst part about it was, I was so physically drained and beaten, I knew she was right. That combined with the fact that I didn't give a directly straight answer, I think, pretty much cemented the truth that I'm likely not quite ready. I'm just disappointed in myself for not being as endurant as I should be. Not to mention the fact that I really need to just abandon my seals on power and control and just do it as a barely-controlled deluge of power. Ever the still, if I don't test this time, it'll just be next time...that's all.

So that's pretty much it for me, I guess. No karate on Saturday, and next Saturday is the belt test, as well as a few peoples' black belt test (namely, my ex and her friend who tried to match us). That should be fun, but I won't be able to see it due to the severity of the test (spectators are invite only at the discretion of those in questionable test). Either way, this should give me some ample "me" time to dick around with WoW or - if I get it - ride my new bike. Beyond that, it's just gonna be a matter of getting through school, maybe doing the diving certification thing, and pretty much surviving through 'till August, when I go back east and see my friends and family. I just know that I need to get my ass on the ball of getting in better shape than I am now if I expect to get the same result. Lord knows I've likely fallen off the wagon, but I have a secret weapon! Using the blender we got from dad in the big move, I've been creating strawberry-banana smoothies that, shall we say, have "cleansing" side effects. Don't ask me how, but they're very "venting" for the human body.

Anyway, that's pretty much all I can think of for this little installment. Gotta ship Mikey's crap video card back tomorrow, maybe help him find a new mouse, and just kinda keep on truckin' I s'pose. Monday starts week 13, so we're almost done. I know I mentioned that before, but it's just soooo good to know I'll be back on vacation soon. Well, until next week, everyone stay gravy, and don't forget Mother's Day is coming up soon...some-fuckin'-time or another. Damn sneaky ass holiday. Well, peace out turkies!
