The June 4th Alliance

A week ago from yesterday, the June 4th Alliance finally turned 21. And it took SO FRICKEN LONG. For the past 6 months, down at school especially, everyone but us has been turning 21. Everyone would be like, "hey! we should go to such-and-such place...oh but wait...we can't, Kenny won't be able to get in..." Well, thankfully, that's not a problem anymore. Some of our friends still can't believe that we were all born on the same day. Really, what are the odds that three friends would all be born on the same day? And we didn't even meet until middle school, all on separate occasions. Dan I met for the first time at Steve Geisser's birthday party in the sixth grade, and Tom and I met at Steven Frederick's birthday party in the seventh grade. It really is odd how we all came together. The connections that go back to grade school really are kind of strange, not just with the three of us, but with the whole group of us. Steve and I go back to second grade (14 years ago now), Steven, Tom, and Devin go back to kindergarten, or somewhere around there, Ryan and Dan go back to something like the third grade, and Mike and I played basketball and baseball together since we were about eight. Then in middle school, Steve went to the Marshall, and I went to the Locke, where I met Steven, and Steve met Dan. Band then brought together Mike, Tom, Dan, and Ryan, and in high school, all the connections came together, and we all still hang out together to this day. It really is strangely cool how these things come together.

So what did the June 4th Alliance do on June 4th, 2005? Well, I went in to Boston to meet the other two, and from there we went to some of the bars around Fenway. First we went to Copperfield's, which seemed rather dead for a Saturday night. So then we went over to the Boston Billiard Club, which apparently has the best Cosmopolitans in the world...so Dan and I got one. It was the biggest chick drink, but it was good. Of course never having one anywhere else, it's uncertain as to whether or not it was the best in the world. It ended up being a good night, got a call from Kevin and Brenda along the way, and when we got back, we left a message on Monica's voicemail. I don't actually remember what was said, but I can only guess it was goofy as all hell.

Well I seem to be a week behind, so you'll get to hear about this weekend, next weekend. Until then...I dunno, have a good week or something.
