(no subject)
Mostly because people have been talking a lot about Moleskines lately, I've been thinking about sketchbooks. I draw mostly on loose computer paper (and sketch on some truly atrocious fax paper, though the perforated hole punched lining looks kind of cool), torn into half sheets and shoved into red manila folders sorted according to how scrappy and how old they are. General referenced or life drawings I put into a spiral bound notebook (usually wide ruled because we have way too many of those and I only use college ruled for classwork anyways). I've been doing this for years, mostly because I'm afraid of fucking up proper sketchbooks with all the silly shit I draw, and it's easy to just cut up or chuck a piece of paper that I've messed up on. But for the pre-college art course at AA this summer I'm going to have to be using them anyways, so I'm thinking of getting a pad of art paper or something to transition into it (though posh paper is so expensive).
things to work on, mostly for my own reference:
-exaggeration in expressions and angled faces
-dynamic poses from different perspectives (not so stiff!)
-anatomy in general (try to spend some more time on figure drawing)
-a general sense of space in sketches
-comic pages or character interaction
-consistency
-a more original, less obviously influenced art style

1: piercing? one in each ear. I’m gauging them but I haven’t found the time to go out and buy bigger ones.
2: tattoos? no, but there are plans for an anchor on each arm in the future.
3: height? 5’0”. I’m a little boy, yeah. Being Asian has never been a better excuse.
4: shoe size? Um, off the top of my head, a seven?

6: siblings? two, an older sister and a younger brother. I'm a lot closer to my brother since we have more in common.
