Phrase of the day: "
ergonomic lexicography" (article title in Booklist 10/25/05).
My first thought: "I don't know what that is, but I think I need some!"
The article was about the New Oxford American Dictionary, which alleges to be the
OXO of dictionaries. Actually, it does sound like a pretty good dictionary; I think I'll order one for the library.
New words in this edition include "Google", "unobtainium" (?) and "booty call".
