Wow. What an interesting few days. First, I notice an encrypted message in the letter from Grandma, with the cryptic notes of strangers, compasses, doors, keys, and to save, use, beware something. I noticed this right before we left in the airship to go monster hunting; the hunt went smoother than I expected, all things considered, and we found the oddest thing...some compass that didn't point north. Uh oh...then on our way back to town we run into a "Paravian merchant ship", heavily armed, and demanding a parley. Once we land, our suspicions are confirmed...Vori Island Pirates, led by an insanely attractive - in that dangerous, exotic, big-breasted sort of way - Pirate Captain. Apparently she too had a piece of the compass (how she got it remained a mystery...I assume pirating, but one never knows)...and was an Air Elementalist. Of course we got involved in a showdown between my men and tarien's running crew, involving air elementals, alot of gunfire, two steam powered carbines, and our eventual victory. With time running short, airships to repair, and a mystery to solve, we are beginning to take some more risks. We are taking the pirate captain with us (the attractiveness only had a small part to play in that decision I assure you!), to glean more information...espcially since the two compasses formed a key that formed an illusionary image of a land far, far away...and apparently in the direction of the Vori Islands. We have two airships, heavily armed and armored, with punctured sails, a group of elementalists that we have to stop the town from killing, a mystery to the West...and i'm sure the damn Clorencians will be showing up within a month. I am really beginnning to hate this damn war; it won't leave me alone! On the bright side, only 2 more continents/nations to go after the Vori Islands, then I can say "hey, i've been everywhere there is to go on this world, what about you?". Then, once that life goal is fulfilled, I can move on to step two...ending this silly war, retiring to the beaches of Caspian, and relaxing with a life full of warm days, picturesque beaches, a beautiful woman, and my guns very, very far away.
