just found out mom has cancer in her eye.
one of the four biopsies they did came back melanoma. Her doctor is talking to one of the top cancer docs and a top reconstructive surgeons in the area (as it's a large enough area that she'll be looking at reconstructive surgery as well) and she's to contact her eye doc on monday if he hasn't already called her. He's wanting to get her in the following week.
we don't know if it's spread. if it has, she's looking at chemo.
so much is up in the air right now. not sure what it all means or what it WILL mean in the long run.
mom is only 65. She and dad celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in Jan. She's a librarian and reads constantly.
i have no idea what cancer in the eye is going to mean for her and for her eyesight.
i'm scared for them on so many levels... and there's nothing i can do.
