I guess they like me!
My apologies once again for my laziness in writing! Things are going well for me at my job - last week I was actually given a promotion (even though I'm not yet at my 90 day mark). I am now the Electronic Records Specialist - which, ironically enough, was the position I originally applied for with Baker. The pay is just a couple thousand more a year, but I am excited to be salaried now! That means more vacation days (I think I now have 3 weeks?)....and since overtime hasn't been an issue (and the only overtime that has come up really has been paid for salaried people, too), I don't see a negative.
Life is going well in general. Yesterday Chris and I went to the Overland Park Arboretum with Chi and the kids. It's a really beautiful place, and I would really recommend it. We had a cookout in our backyard afterwards, and the weather was perfect. Ginkgo has a new red bandana on now, and is about 55lbs last time we checked. We've been working on our garden a lot, too. We have a plot we've fenced off in the backyard, as well as a large number of pots on our front deck. We're growing tons of tomatoes and basil, various hot peppers, bell peppers, various other herbs, japanese eggplant, zucchini, various lettuces, cantaloupe, various pole beans...I can't remember what all. We went to the Overland Park farmer's market again yesterday (it is very close to where we live!) and bought some asparagus, some peaches, and some more herb plants. We try to go there every Saturday that we can. I'm glad it is Memorial Day weekend, too - it's nice to think I don't have to go back to work tomorrow!
