(no subject)
Happy Friday!
This week has seemed to be insanely long for some reason. I've been working my little tail off at work so perhaps it's because I've been particularly productive. The boss getting fired fall out still hasn't settled completely, and now I'm under the impression that all of my projects (even the ones I've already started) are under scrutiny by the big guy. It's quite an unsettling feeling. I'm already the queen of doing more with less, I don't know how much more belt tightening I can do without completely stopping working.
I suppose I'm just ready for this week to be over.
The wrestling season is over for Bill. That doesn't mean he'll stop being so busy, it just means he is moving on to the next sport and the testing portion of his job. I probably won't see him much for the next 3 weeks because he has to prep for OGTs and Track starts on Monday. Good times. He's actually called in sick today, so he can go to the state wrestling tournament. He goes with a lot of the coaches he's coached against for the season and they go to watch the wrestling, but in between rounds they walk a couple blocks to a nearby bar and drink. It's a day for them to cut loose and blow off the stress of the season. I'm fully expecting to get a call this evening asking for a ride home.
I finally mailed off the last portion of my grad school application this week, and I should hear back in about 2 weeks. I can't imagine not being accepted, but still it's a little bit nerve wracking. Once classes start, I really won't have a life for the next 18 months. Fun times.
We've had an insane amount of rain this week, and yesterday I was woken up to the loudest, longest thunder ever. I swear, it was right above our house. LLLLLLLLOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDD. That's how I explained it to Bill over IM. Yes, I'm a dork.
I'm still waiting on some supplies to finish a couple knitting projects, so in the meantime, I'm knitting a pair of socks. No pictures yet, as it is pretty slow going and I haven't been able to get any good ones without daylight, but I'm hoping that the weather is decent this weekend. Today is the first day I've seen sun in a while.
If the weather is decent, I think we're planning on doing our winter clean up of the garden. We did that to our office this week and threw out 2 garbage bags of shredded papers, plus a ton of magazines I was holding onto "just in case". I need to finish going through my wardrobe again to make some room for the stuff I actually wear. Once it is itemized, it will be off to the Goodwill.
God, I'm boring.
