It's that time of year...

Everyone goes out looking for those perfect gifts that their loved ones will cherish for the rest of their lives and the children are getting giddy with the excitement of Christmas presents on the horizon. My niece Jasmine is counting down the days until Christmas and I'm pretty sure my other niece Allissa would be doing the same if she were more than 6 months old right now. Instead it is my sister Kim that gets to experience all the joy of having Allissa's first Christmas this year. Speaking of firsts, this Christmas will be different in a lot of ways. This will be the first Christmas that Kim or Pete will not be there with us as a family, and this year I'll be the only one as they have gone off on their own ways for right now. Another thing that will be new this year is that Stephanie is going to go up to Minnesota with me and spend Christmas and winter break with my family and me. It will be the first time that she'll meet anyone in my family besides my Mom, who she's met down here in Texas on a couple of occasions.

Before I can get into thinking about Christmas and all of the joy and fun that will happen this year, I need to realize that I still have to get through finals this week prior to celebrating and just coasting out the remainder of the semester. I have two finals tomorrow, one on Monday and two on Tuesday since my Saturday final was moved back. I feel really good about getting done with classes for this semester and last night was a good way to wrap all of it up. It was a lot of fun being around Stephanie and my fellow fraternity brothers as we celebrated the end of classes with a toga party at Mojo's Billiards. Now I have to hit the books and type a paper for my finals tomorrow, so I'll add some more at a later time.
