Well, lotsa stuffs've happened over the past two weeks or so.
I'm now on Adderall XR. Pretty similar to Ritalin, but with slower absorbtion into the body, and so supposedly less of a let-down as its effects wear off. I've found it actually does make a pretty signifcant difference in my ability to concentrate on one task at a time, and even to multi-task better. Sweetness. My drawing has even improved a bit as well- I find I'm better able to see the picture as a whole while I'm drawing it, rather than the sort of tunnel-vison I often experience that can cause certain parts to be skewed or not quite match the rest. I've been better about keeping both myself and the house clean as well. Not making as many mistakes on the register at work, either. Which brings me to the next item of interest!
The opportunity with Celestial Ironworks ended up not panning out.. We definately couldn't afford for me to work fewer hours for less money.. I made this clear to Kelvin, and he ended up hiring someone else. Well, so be it. And it turned out to be so totally for the better, too, because a few days later while at Panera I received a call from Sedona Staffing Services (with whom I'd registered back in March and had as of yet, even after several phone calls, hadn't been offered any postions) saying they had a job open for me at Pearson that pays almost TWICE as much as I'm making at Panera. It's a temp position with no guarantee of hire afterwards, but I had to take it. HAD to. I've already put in my two weeks at Panera (Rob insisted that that was way more than dear ole' GM Todd deserved, considering he HID the fucking request book from us so we couldn't ask off, and I needed to have off about once a week for doctors' appointments), and Friday's my last day. Folks, I know I've said it before.. But damn it, this is fer real the LAST time I'm working in food service. BLLAaaAARRGGHH!! I'm gonna miss a lotta my coworkers, so that really sucks.. But I think regular breaks and not standing on my feet for EIGHT HOURS STRAIGHT is well-worth the trade off. I'll be taking inbound phone calls from people with questions on their Student Financial Aid forms.. Rob worked the exact same job a while back, and says as phone work goes it's actually not bad. I just hope that in September, Pearson'll decide to hire me on permanently... I need benefits- my health has just been shit poor the past few months, and it's just getting exhausting to have to go through all the frustratingly round-about means to get low cost health care. Well, I suppose just wish me luck.
Other than that, my hair's undergone some changes, hee hee.. A lil' shorter, and a nice mix of blue and red and the light pink that was left over from the last dying. I had planned on just letting my natural color come back in, but I dunno.. Been pretty fucked in the head (anti-social, crying spells, irritability, homesickness, plus REALLY bad acid reflux again) the past two weeks, and felt the Shan-creature needed a change I guess.
