Yeah.. So this dream actually disturbed me quite a bit...
I was sitting in the passenger seat of a car- I don't remember who was driving- and I was talking to someone on my cell phone. We were driving through this pretty average-looking suburb, when we passed by a house on whose lawn was a horse tethered to a stake in the ground. The horse was in pathetic shape. It had a raggedy, tangled mane and tail and a patchy, dull auburn coat. It was terribly emaciated, and its head was lowered. I had been having a happy conversation, but when I saw the horse I immediately burst into tears and sobbed into the phone "Oh my God-- that poor horse! It's so skinny!"
We continued on and made a left to round a corner, onto a street that followed a hill upward. The sun was just beginning to make its way down for the day. I was still on the phone, still talking about the horse. Suddenly, I noticed the horse galloping wildly past us up the street. "Whoa-- there it goes-- it got free!!" I exclaimed, I think happily. But then I realized that it was heading right toward train tracks, way up at the top of the hill, with no sign whatsoever of slowing down. There was a passenger train tearing down the track. I crossed my arms over my face, helplessly whimpering "Oh god oh god oh god-- I can't watch!!"
Sure enough the horse ran right onto the tracks, completely oblivious, and was absolutely creamed by the train. I mean, LIQUIFIED. It almost seemed like an explosion, as bits of the horse rained down over the whole street, and even onto the car. For some reason, the under-inside of the car's roof seemed to melt downward where drops of the horse had fallen-- and then I watched as those spots morphed back to normal. I was in shock for a moment. Then I was about to cry, but then just started laughing instead. I said to the person on the phone "Damn-- that horse got wrecked!" Or something to that effect.
Very, VERY strange indeed. I mean, the idea of an imprisoned, starving horse finally attaining freedom, and then almost immediately getting obliterated by a train... Unsettling, to say the least.
