Tumultuous Tuesday
So as far as classroom management goes, today sucked goats. Like, really really sucked on many levels. It was such a bad day for behaviours that I started keeping track.
I had one kid (E) crying twice... and once I caused it. Bad attitude in an extra computer class, so I made him log off and write lines...horrible teaching strategy, I know. Just know that there had been discussion and warnings about attitude repeatedly, and he was the proverbial straw to my camel's back.
DB required being told 11 times to sit himself down in his desk at one point in the afternoon. He was just too unfocused to get anything done.
D2 repeated two phrases (approx 20 times) ad nauseum "yahlike" and "yellow" this is about day 3 of this, and I may actually physically remove him from my room tomorrow.
S just yelled out all the time, and he was really trying to be good.
G was back after a week off, and had a week's worth of stories to share with me.
M was back after a blissful (for me) long weekend, and he was just himself. crazy as per normal.
Today better be a better day!
Oh, but now for the awesome. Saw Limitless tonight at galaxy for cheap tuesday. What a fantastic movie! I'm going to buy the book to see how similar/different they are, but holy cow. Thoroughly entertaining, had me hooked from the get-go. At a base level, it reminded me of Wall-Street with its money story-line, but it was so much more than that. One scene was very "American Psycho" and Bradley Cooper was just gorgeous and a great actor in this movie too. Not a good description of the movie at all, but take my word for it, you need to see it.
