Tomorrow is the Fourth of July, a day for fun and fireworks here in the U.S.

My poetry sisters and I decided to write "odes" in the month of May to post for the first Poetry Friday in June. Odes are an interesting thing: there are classical forms going way back to Pindar and Homer, and there are more modern ones that are a bit more loosey-goosey. The key thing is that an ode is a poem in praise of something in particular ( Read more... )

I'm very pleased to tell you that I've had a poem accepted by Poet Laureate Kenn Nesbitt for inclusion in a forthcoming anthology, One Minute Till Bedtime. My "Baseball Season" will be part of the mix, and I couldn't be more chuffed.
