Life . . .

Man, I'm so bad about updating this thing! It seems that every time I get on the computer, I just have time to check my nearly 300 emails, do a little replying and then go to bed. Heck, I haven't even had time to study!!! It's okay, it'll catch up with me eventually.

Let's see . . . what's been up with me? Well, finished my second week of school, so there are only 13 weeks left in the semester!!! I skinned a rat last Monday in Mammalogy, which was interesting, but really really smelly. I also attended an information session about studying abroad, which was pretty useless, but at least I can say that I went. The more I think about studying abroad, the more I want to do it. I mean, yes, I will miss out on the club building phase that Mike and I have been talking about for SDSU Circle K, and yes, I will miss out on Fall rush and having a Lil' Sis, and no, I won't be able to hold any kind of leadership position for any of my organizations next year, and yes, I'll be spending my 21st birthday away from anyone I know . . . but, when am I ever going to have this chance again? Never. For the rest of my life, I will never have the chance to be a student in another country for such an inexpensive rate. So, I've been looking up programs that I might want to go into and I found some really cool ones, but I'm not quite sure when the applications are due. There's an awesome program in Glasgow, Scotland, but I'm pretty sure that the due date has passed for that already. However, I could still go to Australia for Fall semester (July to November), I think. So now I have to make an appointment with an International study advisor so we can get my paperwork started. :)

On the Circle K front, things are starting to wind down for my lieutenant governorship. I attended DLSSP yesterday and was bummed that I couldn't stay overnight and hang with some Circle K'er friends and maybe end up being fluorinated by Irene (just kidding). But the project seemed to be a success and I had a good time. Even though I had to paint the alphabet about 11 times in lower and uppercase . . . my dexterity is greatly improved. :)

Today was Superbowl, and even though I love football, I was pretty disappointed. The game was sluggish and there were numerous mistakes made by these two teams who are supposed to be the best in their leagues. But, the company was enjoyable and the food was good (mom's brisket and my cheesecake), so it made for a pretty good day.

Oh! And I helped out with my first rush on Friday and it was really fun. We had practices all week (and I've had Sigma Kappa songs running through my head over and over since then) and we pulled off two very nice parties. Note: a party is a 30-minute block of time where a group of about 30 prospective new members come into the house and talk to a variety of Sigma Kappa girls. By the end of it, my cheek muscles were twitching because of all the smiling I did. But it was fun and I learned a lot about the way sororities function. I also learned some new make up techniques because during rush, you have to wear insane amounts of make up . . . so I learned how to put on a lot of it and not look too much like a prostitute. :)

And that's my life! Now, I shall retire to bed so that I can get up in the morning and begin my crazy crazy schedule. Eww for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
