Dec 06, 2024 17:23

Here's
adventdrabbles #4. It's an actual 100-word real drabble this time! Just a tiny change of tone from the previous couple of attempts.

Title: Light of the World
Characters: Minerva McGonagall, Robert McGonagall
Rating: G
Word Count: 100 (according to AO3)
Prompt: Candles in the window

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Every Advent season, the Reverend Robert McGonagall lit a candle in the bow window of the family's sitting room.

"It's a symbol," he told his children, "of the light of our Lord. May it help those who are lost to be found."

It has been a long time since Headmistress McGonagall followed her father's religion, but in the years after the war, she finds her thoughts returning to the story of the loving Saviour always looking for the lost.

She thinks of Albus and Severus and so many others as she places a candle in her window on Christmas Eve.
