snapecase, always the bright spot of gray January, has been posting for a few weeks now, and I've finally caught up. It's so much fun to kick back with tales of Snape's life from babyhood to post-war (because he doesn't die in the Shrieking Shack, obviously).
This year's
snapecase is full of great moments -- some poignant, some painful, some funny, some comforting, all worth reading. Here are some of my favorite entries so far:

iulia_linneaCharacters, Pairings: Severus Snape, various canon characters, OCs, and implied pairings
Rating: PG-13
Author's Summary: The Ministry's not actually interested in Severus anymore, but that doesn't mean that no one is.
If you enjoy plotty stories, you'll love this gripping, funny, snappily-told magical mystery. Clever and well-characterized with fine depictions of Minerva and other staff members to round out the supporting cast
Title:
Candles Lit Against the DarkArtist: Anonymous for now
perverse_idyllCharacters, Pairings: Severus, Minerva/Wilhelmina, fab cameos by Rosmerta, Kingsley, Neville, Hooch, Harry, and more.
Rating: PG
Author's Summary: It's been a few months since Minerva's retirement, and she'd promised Wil a dinner out. Before she knows it, friends start turning up on her doorstep and then at the pub, not least among them a certain spy who came in from the cold.
OMG, I LOVED this fic! Full of insight, beautifully written, superbly characterized, overflowing with well-turned lines, striking images, perceptive character moments. This is exactly how I want to envision these people. It's twenty years after the war, and both the scars and strengths of our favorite Hogwartians remain vividly intact. A triumph. Definitely don't miss this one if you're a fan of Snape or McG or (be still my heart) Minerva/Wilhelmina.
