Back in high school and college, I used writing prompts to jump start a story or play with voice. I don't really do that any more ... but I thought it might be fun to see what my awesome writing friends could do with a prompt. Wanna give it a shot? If so, here's your first line:
Where were you last night?
Write a paragraph or a flash fiction piece--I dunno, maybe 100-200 words--and post it in the comments. Dialogue, exposition, whatever. Don't struggle and edit and over think it too much. Just write what comes to mind, clean up the spelling and grammar, and click "post comment." I can't wait to see what you guys produce!
Where were you last night? Jesus, Mira, you gotta pull your shit together. I stared at my dirty clothes and ripped jeans and torn fingernails. Where ever it was, it looks like I had fun. My head pounded as I sat up in bed and felt the tell-tale soreness in my crotch. The clock read 9:00. Great. Spotty memory, shredded clothes, hard sex, and late to work. Either someone slipped me a roofie or I had drank too much vodka again. I groaned as I laid back down. Maybe it's time to start AA again.
