Just a quickish post tonight to let you all know I got back to Taiwan safe and sound! The flight itself was not that fantastic...absolutely no good movies to watch, barely read my book as I thought the overhead light would bug too many people and, best of all, tonnes of turbulence! I don't particularly like flying so this really didn't help...it got bad enough at one point that our drinks got spilt all over the trays (it did have to happen during one of our meals, didn't it?). :S
Still, all things considered, it wasn't all that bad, though I'm not really sure whether I'm happy to be back or not. It's going to be lonely, especially considering I've had company during all of my 4 weeks away. Not to mention work seems to have died down a lot. The company did warn me that work would be scarce during the summer months but I still hope they can find at least one assignment for me a week, if possible. While I know I sometimes complain about it, having work to do does help pass the day and gives me a little extra pocket money to spend at Page One. ^_^
I haven't unpacked yet as I thought that could be something for me to do tomorrow. The house needs a good clean too as everything's covered in about 4 weeks' worth of dust! My mum's recommended that I do as much physical exercise as possible to help me sleep better as well as to help tone the body a little. My stomach muscles are a little loose thanks to the operation I had in January. I was told to refrain from anything strenuous for 12 weeks so that pretty much did it for my fitness and muscle tone...that and the hours I spent sat down at the laptop wasting time and munching on popcorn. So starting tomorrow, I need to get in better shape! While I'm far from obese, I don't like the fact that things fit a little too tightly these days, plus I could do without feeling like I'm about to collapse every time I need to run a bit or climb a few flights of stairs. :P
Anyway, before I end this post for the night, I want to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHRISSIE!!! for yesterday! :D
Well, that's about all for tonight. I'm thinking of heading off to bed in a bit to shake off this jetlag. I barely slept on the plane so I resembled the living dead when I arrived in Taiwan. Might take a while before I feel tired enough, though, thanks to the nap I took earlier. I know you shouldn't do that after long-haul flights but I was seriously exhausted...unlike Sander, I didn't get about 7 hours' worth of sleep on the plane. :P
But enough rambling from me for tonight....Night night. ;)
