Pay Day!
I got paid today! Went up to the office to collect my wage and finally feel like my hard work this past month has been nicely rewarded. Definately going to be saving it up for any future mini-breaks I decide to take...Sander and I have been thinking of going to Tokyo sometime soon. =)
The travel to and form Taipei was relatively smooth, except I had some trouble finding my way back as the coach stop I normally used had been moved thanks to the construction work going on in that area so spent the better part of an hour looking for its new stop....unsuccessfully. In the end I settled for getting a ride back with another coach company so I'm glad I didn't get a return ticket!
One thing that really bugs me about the coaches in Taiwan is that habit of switching off all the lights once you reach the freeway. I know it was about 5pm and some people probably wanted to doze off but I was there reading my book with a care and then off went the lights! The trip from Taipei to Xinzhu is close to 2 hours at that time of day and I had nothing else I could do so it was a pretty dull journey back. Why can't they just install those personal lights you get in planes and coaches in the West?? I think the lack of these bugged me more than the guy sitting opposite who kept coughing without covering his mouth and burping....
But all in all, it's been a fairly good day and I'm still chuffed with my published articles. I think I'll be writing up a Harry Potter review and Hong Kong guide for the next issue. =)
I might eventually get round to posting those photos from Hong Kong. I'll add that to my list of things to do tomorrow as it's almost 11pm already....
