Mr Lee Kuan Yew passed on in the wee hours of 23 March 2015. Death comes to all and for him, it was something people had anticipated for a while. Mr Lee was gloriously 91, and that's a ripe old age by any standard. Since yesterday we've seen and read countless tributes to him. Media zoomed in on his life story. Many changed their profile pictures to one of him and praised him for his contributions. Everything else seem to come to a standstill.

I watched his story in parts on Channel NewsAsia. This was truly a great man. The things he did for Singapore was beyond remarkable and above what all of us could do, combined. He had such vision, acumen, intelligence, strength, wit, willpower - everything a leader of a nation ought to possess. A man of his calibre was one in a million, maybe a few million.

Singaporeans mourn for the loss. Even the mood in the office felt unusually sombre and moody. Everyone was quiet, hesitant to speak.

But we should look on the bright side. It is indeed his time to rest, and lay down the heavy burden. He will be remembered for many years to come, and will go down as one of the greatest man ever lived.

Thank you, Mr Lee. You were amazing :)
