Kukup

Malaysia's somewhere I used to visit twice a year, mostly as a weekend getaway of sorts. I'd wander around the few familiar places, browsing at my own pace, just spending good quality time.

The last trip was to Malacca with some of the guys. Jonkers Walk was sweet in a very nostalgic way; I would have spent more time there had I been on my own. Nonetheless, that was a trip to remember, both the good and not so good.

I spent the last weekend at Kukup. It was my 3rd time and I actually wouldn't mind doing a 4th. There's not too much one can do there though, except maybe card games in the chalet, mahjong, karaoke, and massage which I wouldn't try. But it's a nice little village with an ecosystem of its own. The place feels laid back, unpretentious, and is a picture of peace. Granted its inconvenience (in terms of getting around), there's a honest charm to it.

The 1-night stay was relaxed and enjoyable. There were good laughs and sweet moments. Surprisingly I slept super well. Sometimes, little joys like that is all it takes.
