HOPEFULLY MOST OF US WHO LEFT NEW ORLEANS REALIZE BY NOW THAT THINGS ARE NOT SO GRIM AS FIRST REPORTED. FOLKS IN AND OUTSIDE THE BIG EASY HAVE PULLED TOGETHER FOR EACH OTHER IN THE PAST WEEKS WITH PASSION, COURAGE AND COMPASSION!
Yes, there is a big wet stinky foul bateria-ridden mess. But come on, New Orleans has always leaned that way (towards the big, wet, stinky, foul and bacteria-ridden). RISE UP FOLKS, COME BACK HOME AND PITCH IN! THE CITY'S AWAITING!
1) I have colleagues owning Construction companies returning this weekend to start rebuilding. So, PLEASE forward any info on New Orleans folks who would like to return to New Orleans ASAP to work in the rebuilding efforts. There is an immediate need for individuals skilled in the following areas:
Demolition/Clean-up, Trades (ie: plaster, painters, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc.etc.), roofing, construction-supervision and the like. There will be many opportunities for laborers without specific trade experience as well.
2) I personally will need additional individuals to assist with Greenpixies to do clean-up, tree-triming, landscaping, sod-laying and related work.
Send info to me and I will try to assist in co-ordinating these efforts.
LET'S GET THE PEOPLE OF NEW ORLEANS BACK TO WORK IN THEIR OWN CITY!!!
