AX Day 2......Morning Musume, Jumping, Artist Alley, More Little Tokyo

Jul 04, 2009 21:16

Pardon my lateness from writing this......I'll explain myself later in this entry. But for now. Day 2, Anime Expo:

Me and the rest of
the crew decided to be just regular attendee's today and didn't cosplay. More opportunities to take pictures such as this, with out pausing every 5 steps because someone wants a picture with cloud/Daniel. Today, I actually took a closer look at the artist alley. Holy eff, there are alot of....I guess one could call them "amateur" artists (as much as I don't like using that term), whom are pretty good. Although some aren't making works based of original material/characters, they are still amazing. I don't think I've ever bought so many buttons at one time. I used to think they were a waste of money, but, yeah, once you buy one, you can't really stop yourself.

After that, Daniel and I split from the group to go to the Morning Musume concert. We were in different sections for the concert so we had to split up right when we got in. To be honest, I have no idea who this group was. Apparently they are made up of nine different japanese/chinese women......really cute women ........and they sing. I guess they were ok....but the following they had from the crowd....daym. Glow sticks galore. Ever played rhythm heaven (rhythm tengoku if you played the japanese version first) for the DS? There is one mini game where there's a girl singer, and the audience (including the player) are monkeys. The aim of that mini game is to do different cheer commands whenever she does certain phrases. For example if she says "something something I suppose" the monkeys/player would says "blahhhh, blah blah, hai!" all while clapping on each word. I really can't describe it in words. But just to tie this analogy together......it was almost the exact same thing at the concert. Complete with jumping up into the air on the last "Hai". They would do some phrase and the crowd would respond, with glow sticks in hand. Even grown men were doing this.....I mean I guess it's a good thing to be a fan of something, but I've just never seen in person. I kinda like the energy the crowd was giving Morning Masume, and it was cute whenever they spoke English. Quite honestly, I was just expecting alot of guys to be at the concert, but the whole row of screaming girls behind me really debunked that thought. That row, along with the blaring music pretty much killed my hearing.

After the concert, we all met up again and started doing rounds in the exhibitioners hall. Believe me, one day is not enough to walk thought there. It is probably double, heck even triple the size of Sakura-con's exhibitioners hall. And they have people like them to my right. I rest my case. Game blouses. I can see why people would drop up to $200 on every single haul. There's just too much good stuff here. By the way.....if you want me to buy something, tell me by Sunday morning (preferably by 8:00 AM). Anywho, lets see............I'll talk about my purch
ases in a later post. I planning to go into full explanation more with them, but I'll probably just give a short synopsis of it. So exhibitioner's hall......for those who don't know what it is: basically vendors room. All and any anime shops set up shot here to make an extra buck. Usually stuff is at a reasonable price, sans the rare ish. Anything related to cosplay/anime is here, from Wigs, airsoft guns, to the usual cosplay sets. You think of it, it's probably here. *sigh*....I'm glad these cons come only once a year, cause this would make me poor.....very fast if they were within arms reach everyday. Oh and last thing (I'll try to make it short). There were people like the one's on the left, quest-givers.....their quest "Find a character you like and 'adore' them in picture form. Come back to redeem 101k EXP". I thought that in itself was epic. Side note over.

After the end of our little stint at AX day 2, we just headed to Little Tokyo again and ate at this curry spot. Om nom nom nom. Btw, little tokyo.....it's probably one of the most epic places I've been too in awhile.  They had a doraemon alarm clock.....I almost bought it for myself.  But I have a feeling they have that at the exhibitioners' hall so I'll just hold out for now.  Anywho, hit food coma right when I hit my bed when we returned to the hotel. That's mainly the reason why I didn't even write up my entry for AX Day 2. Well that.....and prepping my cosplay for day 3.....with a new twist......and that brings the end to this post. Here's the album from that day, get you guys in my next update (which will be in a couple hours). Oh, and don't forget to save my LJ to your RSS feeds. Holler at it.
