I must have mentioned we had an offer accepted on a house, right? Well, the first mortgage we went for fell foul of the house being in an industrial estate and the lender not giving mortgages on houses it could only sell on for investment purposes. Disappointing, but OK, let's move on. We're now with another lender and the valuation has come back fine: this is the first real step we've gone since June. Today I've organised our own survey, we're signing forms left right and centre and haemorrhaging money like it was going out of fashion. Well, Matt is, he's the one paying for most of this! Talk about guilt tripping: how am I supposed to run off with someone else now if he's bought me a house, the one thing I've wanted more than many, many other things?
Anyway, after the rigmarole of 'losing' our first mortgage, we're finally getting somewhere and hopefully we'll have a move-in date that's convenient and before the start of term...
In other news, I've been painting models for my Mordheim warband: I've got Orcs and Goblins and a troll. I also have some squigs, so I've painted two read and yellow as I've already got white and blue ones. They should be ready for the beginning of term.
I was going to go to Nottingham Pride on Saturday but I didn't feel so good after coming back from shopping so declined to walk the 40mins in the heat.
I have made cookies for my Nan's 90th birthday: she was actually 90 on Wednesday but we're going to Essex for a do this weekend. I also made some ninjas.
I played some WFRP yesterday which was fun: a first-time GM and he did a good job.
Must be some other things I want to say, but can't honestly think of any.
