As requested by ltcmdrjim, here is the picture from the Adventurer's Mart website of my new sword (I have saved and re-hosted the picture because there's a stock change due Friday):
I tried it with the scabbard last night and it hangs at the right angle so as not to be too long!
In related news, I've had a few ideas for my Halloween costume and I've decided to go for something similar to what I wore for the final LARP of 2007. I should go and find some cheap (or free) accessories to make it a bit more wood elf-like, but I'm sticking with simple as possible after last year's (unphotographed) over-exertion. I do certainly seem to go one-year big, next-year small! In aid of this, I might spend this Saturday out shopping: Matt's running the final bit of his game so I might pack myself a lunch and spend the day out before going out in the evening. I should go to all the charity shops I can for random bits and see how many cheap shoe shops I can take in. I don't want to spend much, obviously, but that means I'll need to shop around!
Still no timetable, and no email in response! I've sent them another one...
Had my appraisal today: all went well. Got some areas for improvement but that's expected :)
