1. Now that Source Filmmaker is out, I am screwing around with it. It's a very sound little tool, but as I'm not an animation student, there's a limit to what I can do. This is about the extent of my abilities so far:

2. I will be going to Dragon Con this year. Also probably Natsucon, but that's waaaaaaaay less noteworthy.
3. I finally gave in and bought both Unknown Armies and Burning Wheel. Because what I really need are two more RPGs that I'll pine over and never get a chance to play. In related news, after years of wanting one, I finally got into a Changeling game. It promptly disintegrated about two days before the first session was scheduled.
4. I'm looking into learning C#, because everybody says it's way easier to make GUI stuff in than Java. Which, admittedly, is like saying, "I'm looking into fistfighting a wolverine, because I hear they're easier to beat up than dinosaurs."
5. I let my City of Heroes subscription lapse for a whole month, and then they announced they were making a melee debuff defensive set. So now I'll have to resub unless that turns out to suck. Jerks.
6. I'm watching Moribito, which, by all rights, I should love. It's directed by Kenji Kamiyama and produced by Production I.G.! It's set in a gritty, low-magic feudal Japan! It features realistic fights and really good artwork! It got rave reviews from several people whose opinions I trust! ... but I'm still having trouble getting into it. I think part of it is that it's just slow. Not, like, reflective and slow. Just plain ol' slow-paced. And this is coming from somebody who gobbled up every exposition-laden second of Stand Alone Complex. The characterization might be part of it, too... while all of the characters feel realistic and well-rounded, I just don't find myself giving a damn about most of them, and that's the one thing Kamiyama has pulled off consistently for me in everything else he's directed.
When I finish with that, I just might watch Yuruyuri. That should fulfill my fluffy schoolgirl slice-of-life comedy quota for the decade, since I already watched Nichijou earlier this year.
