So, I ran into a bug with the Companions questline in Skyrim. After Kodlak was assassinated, the plot did not progress to the next step, and no amount of console commands can force it to. After in-game weeks of waiting for it to move on, I finally decided to extract my entertainment from the companions in other ways.
The problem, you see, is that Aela the Huntress, once one of the most reliable members of the Companions, has spent the intervening time loudly showing off the rotting corpses of the assassins to anybody who passes by. No amount of rhetoric can dissuade her from this pointlessly vengeful course of action.
Stricken with guilt over not being able to protect their eldest, Farkas and Njada have dampened their grief with a manic cheese binge, eating pound after pound of the finest Eidar and goat cheeses they can raid from the pantry.
Brill has taken to calling himself Mahou Shoujo Werewolf-chan, whatever that means. (Sadly, his model doesn't seem to be capable of displaying him wielding the Sanguine Rose, which applies to most of the other Companions, too.)
Vilkas... we try not to talk about Vilkas.
The noble order of the Companions, it seems, will never recover from their loss.
