Yesterday was varied. Most of work was spent resetting passwords and rewinding stuck workflow things in Orable.
The evening we went out for a belated anniversary meal, to the same restaurant as for my 30th. Mine was good, but adelpha's deep-fried goat's cheese was still frozen in the middle. O_o When this was brought to their attention, they apologised and said that they'd prepare another. Then the (rather cute, as it happened) head waiter/manager trotted up to us and said that the one that had gone wrong was in fact the last one, and had gone wrong because they'd had to run out and get more goat's cheese earlier, what with it being popular. Would brie do instead? My starter was perfect - seared strips of fillet steak on pureed swede in a yorkshire pudding, with creamy pepper sauce. The steak was cooked exactly how I like it - it even left bloodstains on the puree!
The rest of the meal went without a hitch (grilled tuna steak or him, salmon fishcakes for me), and then we went for a walk along the river.
Today was also varied. I got up early and went to Specsavers to collect the coloured contact lenses that I'd ordered last week. This was so that I'd be able to wear a pair for a few hours before having them checked. The assistant looked, and looked, and looked some more. Then he said that they hadn't arrived. I told him that he'd better cancel the check-up appointment for that afternoon! He said that he'd call when they arrive, but if I haven't heard by Tuesday, I'll call and cancel the order...
Did some more work on Nan's scented cushion, and then we headed into London. It was hot! I think I caught the sun a little! *Glows* We walked from Waterloo to Covent Garden, had a look through the market and then saw a fabulous scottish woman performing street theatre, including juggling, heckling and unicycle-riding! After that we headed to Belgos to await mitchy. Mmm - fruity beers! The chocolate one took some getting used to, and would require careful consumption, but the food was great! I had the cold meats platter to start, and then the Pop'ei - mussels in a cheese and spinach sauce. The others had nice food too (sorry - tired). Then we tried to avoid being mugged by bookshops.
(I am aware that I have not yet seen this week's Doctor Who. This is getting to be a habit and must be stopped at all costs.)
We got home and I finished Nan's cushion. I now only need to find some wheat, as I got a bag of lavendar in Neal's Yard. Then I caught up on my F-list, only to find one TWO spoilers NOT hidden behind cut-tags. *Sigh* At least they weren't major, or things that I couldn't have guessed...
Is hot in here - might sleep with the fan tonight.
