- CENSORED
- Went shopping in Cyber Candy and picked up:
- Almond M&Ms
- Dark chocolate M&Ms
- Jolt cola
- Various flavours of JBCs (cappuccino, orange, coconut, cinnamon and possibly some others)
- Raspberry Coca-Cola!
I forgot the tinned pumpkin, though - have to get that next time. - Saw "TLTWaTW" again. This time I noticed a couple of extra details, such as Professor Kirke's tobacco box is shaped like an apple. Also, pretty much all of the new material is devoted to developing Jadis as a character - proving exactly how evil she is. Something else struck me - the presence of an older sun god who now personifies a pagan festival in a Christian allegory. Still, it was a nice scene(!)
- I caught myself doing the horrible unexpexted stop in front of someone on a tube platform. In my defence, I realised at once what I'd done, and apologised to her. Thing is, I'd just seen the face of The Shatner on the wall, advertising "Boston Legal". At the bottom, in smaller letters: "Denny Crane". I would have laughed, but I'd just ridden the rush-hour Drain from Bank to Waterloo and my reserves of humanity were running low.
- Been taken out for a wonderful meal in a local restaurant. Anyone in the area should really go to Bula if they possibly can. The food is rather wonderful - I had smoked haddock on potato salad with honey mustard dressing (EPC, by the flavour) and dill mayonnaise, followed by pan-roasted duck breast (with crispy skin!) and stir-fried vegetables in a ginger sauce (I think). adelpha had breaded goat's cheese with char-grilled pineapple followed by mixed bean chilli in a taco crown, with rice and soured cream. We shared a melting chocolate pudding (or, as I call them, "half-cooked") with vanilla ice cream and stawberry sauce. Feel full!
I also picked up some bits for the office tomorrow - a couple of TTD cakes and some in-store bakery munchies. Any that are left over will be taken to London on Sunday for people joining in with the viewing of "Underworld Evolution". Is it a good idea to see a film without having seen a trailer?
Also, request for hope, mainly from
sorcha and
hellison - how does one promounce the name "Grainne"? One of the auditors who'll be keeping an eye on work is called this, and we'd like to be able to refer to her as something other than, "attractive tall red-haired Irish bird".
