You might not have realized, or perhaps you've forgotten due to the absolute drought of me actually producing anything for some time now, but I am, in fact, a writer/artist/performer. So it shouldn't come as a surprise then that I've given at least some thought to the subject of fame.
Will I ever attain any level of fame? How much fame do I really want? Would it be enough to just be recognized locally? What about being recognized by the subculture we're all a part of, as a popular voice actor or a critically acclaimed webcomic artist? How much fame would be "enough"?
Well, after making a certain discovery the other day, I can now precisely quantify just exactly how famous I want to be in this life:
I want to be famous enough that someday they make a great RPG with me as the central character.
That's right, I'm talking about
Eternal Sonata. The RPG set entirely in a dream experienced by the famous composer Frederic Chopin on his deathbed. Only the Japanese could come up with such an absurd and wonderful idea to use as the basis for an RPG.
I first heard about this game 3 days ago when I saw a comercial for it, and my first thought was "Holy shit, they finally made Dark Cloud 3." Then I saw the title and I thought, oh, well it's not DC3 but surely it was the same team. Then I saw that it was XBox360 only and a part of me died inside. Further research proved that it's from Bandai/Namco and probably has nothing to do with the Dark Cloud people or even Level 5 (last known to be working on White Knight for the lolPS3) but it still looks awesome and makes me sad since I'll never own an Xbox360 to play it on.
Anyway, at least now I have something to work towards in life (or death). It's important to have clearly defined goals. ;D
