It is now the time of year when I post about my Granny. Why? Well in part because she died around this time three years ago. (So of course in order to type this I had to go back and read the post Who's your favorite person in the world?
Give 'em a call. I can't call mine anymore.

It had me crying outloud. As mentioned in the post her birthday would also have been last week.
Mainly though it's my orange tree. I may have said before (but can't find the post) that Granny brought this tiny little thing back from Florida as a tourist souvenir decades ago. Now it puts out lovely little blooms and oranges that get to be about an inch and a half to two inches in diameter. After she died I got the tree. It pleases me a great deal that it always blooms at this time of year. It reminds me to think of her and to thank God for giving me her, all the times I had with her, and all the lessons she taught me.

This wasn't supposed to be so cry-y for me. It was supposed to be a post about my lovely tree that is about to once again put out scores (or perhaps hundreds) of little oranges. I sat down on the porch to have a cigar and enjoyed watching half a dozen bumble bees flying around and pollenating the flowers, and I thought I'd show a picture or two. So, "yeayyy".
But I'm serious about that other thing:
Who's your favorite person in the world?
Give 'em a call or a hug or write them a letter.
Don't wait.
Expect another reminder next August.
