ahhh, the geekiness

Nov 22, 2006 12:33

This is from an email list at the NIH for pre-doctoral / pre-med fellows. People use the list to sell furniture, set up happy-hours, look for apartments, and advertise a pick-up game of ultimate frisbee. I used it to find research studies to participate in and join a couple of softball teams.
I saved this email because I thought it was really funny. Also, I miss playing with my roommates the games he lists (and many, many others)

Subject: [ClubPCR] Comic Book Club

Hey fellow IRTAs!

My roommate and I have started a comic book club in case anyone is
interested in joining us. We meet once a week and discuss everything
and anything comic/role playing game related. This week we will be
moderating a debate on whether Batman can beat The Punisher without
any prep time.

We also play video games (currently enthralled with FFXII!!!) and
other games such as Magic The Gathering, Battle Tech, Risk, and D&D
(Dungeons and Dragons for those who don't know the venacular). We're
also trying to recreate the final battle scene from Lord of The Rings
Return of The King using model kits and ply wood, so if you'd like to
help let me know . So far it's just me and my roommate, so any company
would be most appreciated, especially if you're fluent in elvish and
are of the female persuasion. Email me if you're interested!

So, Aeryn, what are you doing Friday or Friday night?
