So Saturday was it. I finished my training and all that is left is to take it easy this week and it lots of carbohydrates. I had expected to do something long with lots of ascent but instead I did something easy just to get out. The weather was indifferent which didn't exactly motivate me. Good progress on the fitness front: last Friday I did the Olympus Apollo course 7 mins faster than my prveious best coming in at a tad over 55min for 20.4Km. What's more, this is almost 20 minutes faster than my first attempt back at the start of February. This is a huge improvement. The Bobath ride isn't in the Justgiving calendar yet so I can't set up a fund-raising page but I need to consider what I do to my Facebook profile and other pages to raise my visibility. Will email Jess on Friday to let her know I'm doing it.

OK, I've decided-I'm going to do the Lon Las for Bobath again in 2009. There are two differences this year: it will be in late May not mid-April so hopefully the weather will be better and we'll be starting in Cardiff so the first day will involve descending to the Talybont reservoir. The day started with the first breakfast produced by Jess and Emma (Bennets). First class porridge and scrambled eggs, which were to be our staple throughout the ride.

I am quite concerned about the weight issue so rather than just trying to diet and contemplating the radical step of coming off the hormone implants I have decided to do a sponsored bike ride of around 250 miles over 5 days from Holyhead to Cardiff on the Lon Las.
