Not much news on the Keith front, though a reliable source informed me they are aiming to have their next single out in September. Here's hoping it's "Replica"!

With a debut single release imminent, packed out gigs and hordes of record company interest following them, these are exciting times for Manchester’s Hottest New Band™. Recently the band signed a short term deal with Lucky Number Records to release debut single ‘Hold That Gun’ which has already been played on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 Evening Session and they follow recent impressive appearances for Akoustik Anarkhy with support slots with Hard-Fi and Tom Vek.
Formed in 2002 whilst studying in Manchester for a music production degree, Keith's sound can be described as groove-rock, incorporating elements of dub, folk, indie, soundscapes and dance music. While Keith's influences are undeniably eclectic (ranging from DJ Shadow and Can to Elliott Smith and The Beta Band), the loving way in which each element is incorporated into the overall sound, combined with the presence of a vocalist with a truly distinctive voice ("somewhere between Morrissey and Jeff Buckley" -Gigwise.com) has ensured the creation of a distinctive, Keith sound. The band's intense live gigs have also earned them critical plaudits as well as a passionately loyal fan-base.

A NIGHT for celebration as one of Manchester most lauded new bands came out of their shell to launch their first record after months of label discussions.
It's now time for Keith to confirm their pioneering potential - though an equal number of critics have been confounded by their challenging take on melodic rock music.
Keith hit the opening track of their forthcoming EP Hold That Gun with real purpose, the distinctive electric piano riff sounding like bell ringers backing the Spencer Davis Group.
It's a song with such retro qualities it could set fire to the dancefloors of Northern Soul all-nighters as well as sticky-carpeted indie clubs.
However, a tender rendition of the wonderful Bled A Rose suffered badly from terrible sound - the song relies heavily on the tight vocal harmonies but we could only hear Oli Bayston’s voice, missing the higher range of guitarist Mark Nicholls.
Unsold Thoughts showed off the band's abilities and potential better than any other. The dub bassline, gentle piano work and the awe-inspiring vocals made it one of the standout songs of the evening.
On that evidence, any cynic would have to admit that we may be blessed with a rare, original guitar band, though Faces fitted a more traditional indie aesthetic with good harmonies and simple structure.
New song Leave It Now typified their reluctance to stick to one sound as Bayston, decked out in his trademark Fred Perry, looked like a silhouette of a young Terry Hall and his almost spoken verse sounded like him too.
Haha this reviewer makes it sound like Oli always dresses like a chav!
