I am s l o w l y getting back into fairs and such. I have two shows to be at this year and there might be a third. I need.... boots.
Yep, it's time. I need boots. I've always had crap for boots, but I need to kick it up a notch. I'm not great with fitting into just anyone's shoes/boots, so I'm worried about getting a pair that won't fit right, but mail order seems to be my only option.
What are my requirements? Over calf, at least. I don't think I want full height bucket boots, they seem to just not be something I'd enjoy, and I wonder if they'll work with requirement two. Requirement two - I gotta be able to fight in these. That means armor. I'm not looking for steel toe boots, if I need to, I'll just have sabatons put into the kit. But for shows, I think I can get away without them.
Over calf
Can fight in them with armor on
Comfortable for a wider foot
Excellent return policy from the company
I don't think the sodhopper type boots will work for me. I think they're also beyond my budget right now. I might get a pair of those in the future because I have heard that they are the most comfortable ones you can get, bar none. You also need to be fitted for them, which is fine and damn well better be the case when they cost that much.
I welcome your recommendations. I know there are some $70 boots out there that are taller. There are also $400 boots that are tall too (see above comment on sodhoppers).
Thanks
