red_lasbelin Name a character from one of my fandoms (let's confine this to Tolkien :)), and I'll give you either:
(a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon,
(b) a reason he/she sucks,
(c) a reason he/she is awesome,
(d) five things that never happened to that character, or
(e) five people that character never fell in love with and
Glorfindel loves painting. He’s not very good at portraits though he keeps trying and he’s starting to improve, but he’s quite good with landscapes. Give him oil paints, brushes, and leave him to amuse himself and you’ll have to remind him to eat. Very good, too, at those quick pencil sketches that never seem to translate properly into a full work later. His father totally disapproved of his interest in art, and his second life was his first chance to really indulge this love. It was also the first time anyone other than his mother told him he had talent.
He is slightly less than useless with a bow, doesn't matter how hard he practices.
Glorfindel’s favourite form of exercise is running, it’s when he does his best thinking. He likes to run early in the morning when there aren’t many people around. He sees it as ‘me’ time, so he seldom invites anyone to join him. He loves to feel how fit his body is again, even though on some level he will never forget it being burnt and broken in the battle with the Balrog (look at that alliteration *is proud*). Running is a reaffirmation of the return of his strength.
He is built like a runner too, not a muscle-bound barbarian warrior-type - streamlined, long, steely muscle, everything nicely in proportion, nothing over developed due to muscle-specific exercise.

To me the elves have always been like that. Ereolas says that Glorfindel and his brother are built like brick privy's; however he means like your description, not like how humans are. I think the brick privies in Mithlond must be very skinny buildings!
I like your Glorfindel - he seems well balanced and thoroughly nice. I like that he feels the need for 'me' time - it is something that I identify strongly with lol

I also need regular time to myself, so it's part of Glorfindel that I can relate to as well. Goes with running, I've noticed that runners don't mind time alone.
*hugs you*

Love the artist part also. (Now there's a self-insertion fantasy for me; not art, per se, but the concept of a chance to start over and develop the things about oneself that were discouraged the first time around.)

And I loved the thought that someone could get a second chance at something they love.
