it's my golden birthday today and instead of enjoying it I'm having like the 100th breakdown over a stupid costume in a row. I've pumped an astronomical amount of worry and money (you don't even want to know) into this shit and every time I hit a roadblock I'm just ready to throw it out a window and cry pathetically

So far I've managed to truck through every roadblock with pretty good results afterward, but currently I'm pretty damn stumped on the shinguards of all things adflksdfksdf like I was all "okay fuck trying to do this legit, I'm doing 'em bootcover style" but then my fabric was...not...stretch..enough... to work....

Have you tried using vinyl over craft foam? Or rigid wrap? I forget what the armor set for that outfit looks like orz.
My first set I used complete craft foam, it looked good but after like 10 minutes of wearing they were destroyed.
Rigid wrap and vinyl covered craft foam has been working pretty well for the last few times. Boot covers sounds like a pretty good idea though.
Gyaaaaaa no matter how many times I make armor it always proves to be difficult lol.

vinyl over craft foam is basically what I'm doing, but it's not being the most cooperative, so yeeeah (these ones are a bit more detailed than his default's, and enough so that I'm like /TABLEFLIP at 'em). Rigid wrap, I wonder if I could hunt some of that down orz orz AND THE BOOTCOVERS WOULD BE WORKING if my material were stretch enough but it ain't, argh

Michaels has it! Candice told me to use that for armor and it was like I CAN SHOW YOU THE WORLLLLLLLLLLLD.
It's sturdy and you can do whatever you want to it, you can even use what you have right now as a base? What I'm using right now is rigid wrap for the shin covers and vinyl for the calf part.
