Pairings : UruhaXAoi, KouyouXAoi, TakashimaXAoi (confused? *chuckled*)

Disclaimer : I don’t own the boys. They belong to themselves. The bands belong to their company. I adapted the main idea of the story from CLAMPS’s CARD CAPTOR SAKURA. I only fitted the main idea of the story with new settings and - of course - new characters. That’s all.
Summary : those powers have ‘minds’. ‘They’ can think. They rebelled. They wanted to be free, yet they need humans to be their host. Not all the people were able to bear such a power. Several of those people turned mad and became a menace to the world. That is what Aoi had to deal with. As some kind of guardian, Kouyou and Takashima are there to help Aoi whenever the boy needs them… or was it the contrary?
Comment : it’ll be a - little - action for this chapter. Hope you’ll like it. Happy reading!

Chapter 00 // Chapter 01 // Chapter 02

03. The Many-Associated Woman

As the vines keep pulling me away from Kouyou, as Kouyou was still struggling to free himself from the living blood, as Takashima started to fight the Knight of the Swords - it’s a very unfair battle if I may add - the snow was still falling. It’s getting thicker, thicker, and thicker.

Now what should I do in this kind of condition? I really don’t know about her child. The Empress…

What should I do? I looked at the girl's hand. It’s still freezing like an ice. I guess that was how she controlled the falling of the snow.

…“So, The Arcana is a big power, a STRANGE one.”…
…“Similar with the one that we lent to you, Aoi-san.”…
I remembered what Takashima and Kouyou told me about the Arcana power. Arcana ARE strange. But Kouyou and Takashima said that they lent me the similar power like Arcana too, right? And maybe… just, maybe… I can face this girl, just like the way I faced Reita few days ago…

I mean: The Magician.

“Takashima!” I screamed. “Throw the Magician card to me!” I know he’s in big trouble right now; facing the Knight of Swords and all. But I just can’t stay like this for the rest of my life too, right? Moreover, Kouyou’s position is a bit more frightening, I guess. Facing a living blood is not something you’ll like in your life I presume. I need to do something about that too. Soon.

Takashima dodged the Knight of Swords’ assault. He still held his sword (more like a fencing sword to me) in his hand tightly. “You’d better not put yourself in danger, Darling!” said Takashima as he took the card from his coat’s pocket and threw it to me.

The card was almost slipped from my hand but I caught it. The vines are still squeezing me. And it’s getting tighter and tighter - I need more concentration to cast the spell inside this card.

Fuck this.

I put the card in front of my face. “For the power that sleep within the card, open all the lock and let me lend your power for the mere moment… show your power to me, and I’ll lend you my body as an agreement.”

“What..!?” was the only word I heard both from Kouyou and Takashima after I said those words.

The moment later, I looked at the card in my hand, and it slowly turned into a dagger. With the dagger, I stabbed the vines and cut it. There, I heard the girl screamed.

“HOW COULD YOU!!?” asked the girl. She held her forehead with the hand that was not freezing. I guess she couldn’t use her freezing hand.

I jumped away from the vines while still held the dagger in my hand tightly. I looked at Kouyou and ran to him.

“NO! You can’t get away with this!” said the girl as she stretched her hand. Other new vines emerged from the ground and moved so fast toward me.

I turned and change the card again, this time into a wand. “YOU are the one who can’t get away with this!” I yelled and swung my wand. “FIRE!!” There, I send a blowing fire right to the moving vines. The vines burnt and turned into ashes.

“NOOO!!” the girl screamed again.

I used that moment to run toward Kouyou.

“STOP!!” Kouyou yelled.

I stopped my step. Kouyou’s right. I couldn’t get closer for the living blood was moving randomly; like it could eat or pull anything to kill it.

A blood..? No… wait…

“She held the power over life,” Kouyou explained. “She had the dominance through the whole year… she had this dominion over growing things…”

“Growing things?” Reita asked.

“Plants… animals… nature… humans…” Takashima said.
It’s today’s conversation; about The Empress. It gave me realization. I looked at the girl and yelled. “It’s your own child’s blood for God’s sake!!”

She fell silent. She looked at me with her sad yet fierce eyes again. This time, her eye balls turned red. “You knew…”

“You’re child was already dead…” I said with a whisper. But I bet she could still hear my voice.

She stretched her hand - not the freezing one - again to the blood that was still binding Kouyou. Slowly, the blood let go of Kouyou and move back to the girl. “Come, Knight…” she said. And the Knight of Swords pulled his horse’s rein and walked back to The Empress.

I changed back the wand into the Magician card. Kouyou then walked behind me, and Takashima ran toward me. “Are you okay, Darling?” he asked.

“I… I’m fine…” I said as it’s getting hard for me to breath; don’t know why. “You…” I said to the girl. “You w-want your c-child to b-be reborn I p-presume?”

“You knew…”

“You k-know it c-can’t be h-happened…”

“Someone can recreate it actually,” said the girl as he looked to both at Kouyou and Takashima. “You… the two of you… I guess both of you know any clue about this.”

“Shut up,” Kouyou said suddenly. His hand was holding my arm. Tight. “We’ll find your child as soon as possible. But we can’t guarantee you that your child is still alive.”

The girl sighed. “That’s a pity… then I shall find my child… on my own…” This time she moved her freezing hand. “May the avalanche put your town into an eternal sleep, Young Man…” she said. She’s smiling, and the falling snow’s getting harder.

I gasped. I free myself from Kouyou's grip and ran toward the girl.

“No, Darling! Don’t!” Takashima yelled.

I won’t listen to Takashima this time. I won’t let the girl do what she wanted to my town.

I won’t.

But…

…since when I’m starting to care this much to this town?...

“What are you going to do, Young Man?” the girl asked, still smiling, when the Knight of Swords stomped his horse rein and ran toward me.

Just like the snow that you created to fall onto this town, that stupid Knight of Swords was also made from an ice, right?

I changed The Magician card back to wand. “Fire!!” I yelled as I swung the wand to the Knight of Swords’ horse and burnt it. I saw when the horse neighed when it vanished into the air like a melted snow, and the Knight of Swords fell to the ground. Now, the Knight of Swords was only had the sword in his hand. Without his horse, I guess now Takashima can have a better, a much more… better, fair, battle. Well, I can’t face The Empress, the Knight of Swords and the living blood all at once, can I?

“Takashima!” I called.

“Dear, love, my Darling. You’re smart actually. But too brave at the same time,” he said as he drew his fencing sword again. “You’re nearly made my heart stop beating.” Takashima patted my shoulder and pulled me a bit. “But thank you…” he said before he kissed my hair and walked toward the Knight of Swords who already stood and held his sword. “So, Dear Knight… shall we continue our paused battle earlier?” Takashima was making this ‘on guard’ pose.

“Pretty clever…” said the girl. “But what about this one?” The girl swayed her unfreezing hand and made the living blood mover toward Kouyou.

“I hate to do this actually…” Kouyou said as the red aura around his eyes was getting bigger. “But since you started an unfair battle-” Kouyou opened his palm and there, I saw the same red aura burnt like flame. “-I just can’t let that happen…”

“Oh, now you want to fight ME?” The girl smiled like she was finding something interesting. “You surprised me so much… Uruha…”

“SHUT!! UP!!” Kouyou jumped and attacked the living blood.

I looked at the living blood for awhile before I looked back to the girl. She looked so sad, but she didn’t do anything about it.

I held my wand tightly in my hand. “Stop this…” I said to the girl.

“Stop what?”

“STOP THIS!” I yelled, I swung my wand again, and made a fire burnt around me. It caused the snow around me melted. “All of this! You just CAN’T find your child! Your child is already dead! Gone! Your child is nowhere to be found!” I attacked the girl with the fire from my wound.

Some shocking thing happened. The living blood that was battling with Kouyou turned back and protected the girl from the fire I made. It gave me more shock because I heard the blood shrieking.

“Wha..?! What was that..!?” I asked, still in shock.

I saw the girl shivered. Her eyes bulged when she saw the blood protected her. She bit her lips, and the second after, I saw a blood running down from her abused lips.

“You… will… PAY FOR THIS!!” she yelled as she moved her freezing hand. The falling snow was then moving around in a dreading speed and turning into some blizzard.

“LOOK OUT!” Kouyou yelled as he pushed me when the blizzard attacked me. I fell to the ground, and the wand slipped from my hand.

When I turned and looked at Kouyou, he was there, freezing inside some large ice crystal because of the blizzard. “KOUYOU!!” He pushed me and took my place when the blizzard attacked. “Oh, my God… no…”

“You’ve been protected too much, Young Man,” the girl said with gritted teeth.

After she said that, I saw Takashima fell to the ground, and in front of him, I saw the Knight of Swords was walking toward him with the sword drawn to Takashima’s face.

Oh no…

“Stop this…” I said.

“Why you think I would do such a thing?” the girl smiled.

“STOP THIS!!” I yelled again. I don’t know why I feel some kind of sharp pain hit my whole body in a sudden, I’m about to cry; but I held it in. “You think your child would like to see you like this!? Huh!? You think your child would love to see YOU, his MOTHER, to be this destructive!? Did you ever think about it!? Even for just once in your life!? In your fucking five centuries life!?”

“You…” She gritted her teeth again. “How dare you mentioning my child!?”

This time I saw the Knight of Sword ran toward me as he drew his sword to me.

Is this my time?

“NOT YET!!” Takashima said. He warded the attack from me with his small sword. It’s a fencing sword for whatever’s sake. He needed more power to hold it.

I need my wand. I need The Magician. I need it to turn it into a dagger. But the card, the wand, slipped from my hand when Kouyou pushed me earlier and now I need to run to reach it.

“Shit…” I heard Takashima cursed as he tried to push his fencing sword to the knight’s sword.

I’m sorry, Takashima. But I have to leave you for a moment.

I ran from behind Takashima and took the wand. “Fire!” I yelled as I pointed the wand to the Knight of Swords.

The Knight of Swords had a very good response indeed. He’s being a knight not for nothing. He kicked Takashima before returned to me and swung his sword to cleaved my fire and make it vanished into the air.

It’s fine. As long as Takashima had been kicked away from him, I won’t need my fire to reach him. I just need him to be as far as it could from Takashima.

Now, the Knight of Swords is looking at me.

“D-Darling…” Takashima tried to call me as he held his stomach. I bet it hurts so much.

“The High Priestess…” I said as a stretched my hand to Takashima’s direction.

“What..?”

The knight walked to me. “The High Priestess card, Takashima! Hurry!” I yelled.

“But-”

The knight ran. “HURRY!!”

“Shit…” Takashima swore. But he took the card from his coat’s pocket and threw it to me.

I caught it before in split second - I guess - I change the wand in my hand into a coin - a large coin - to defend myself from the knight’s attack.

It’s hard, but I struggled. I put the card in front of my face. “F-for the power t-that sleep within t-the card, open a-all the lock a-and let me l-lend your power f-for the mere m-moment… show your p-power to me, a-and I’ll lend y-you my body a-as an agreement.”

The knight drew his sword above his head. I bet he’s more than ready to chop my head off.

“Labyrinth!” I yelled.

And there it comes, the walls around us, between us all, surrounding all of us, me, Takashima, Kouyou - who was still frozen, the Knight of Swords, the living blood, and the girl. Those walls were preventing all of us to meet each other.

Why I know all of that? ‘Cause I’m the only one who can look through all of the walls. I can still see those walls, but it’s all transparent.

Is this how The High Priestess’ vision when she casted all of these walls?

I could see the Knight of Swords was trying to break the walls. I felt the tremor at my hand. There, I saw The High Priestess card was shivering for each swung of sword that the knight made to the wall. I guess I have to hurry.

First, I hesitated. How can I reach Takashima or Kouyou with all of these walls around us? When I walked and stretched my hand to touch the wall, I failed. I couldn’t touch it. I mean, the wall is there, but I couldn’t feel anything.

So The High Priestess was the only one who can walk through the wall she made?

That’s my advantage. I looked at Takashima. He looked confuse for the walls, but he’s safe there. At least, not even the Knight of Swords or the living blood able to attack him. Kouyou’s too. I know he needed a help right now, but I just couldn’t take that risk by letting the Knight of Swords breaking his walls or do something worse. What I should do now is cut all the source of all of these problems: The Empress.

I ran toward the Empress. She was surprised when she saw me. Well, I guess anyone would be surprised to see someone ran through a wall without breaking it.

“You…” said the girl.

I looked at her in a glance; the blood on her lips was already dried. “I’m sorry…” I held her freezing hand with my left hand. With the wand at my right hand, I light the fire once again.

“No!!” she screamed.

I burnt her hand. I only wanted to melt the ice around her hand. I hope, just hope, that way, I could stop the snow from falling.

Well, I guess, it worked. She fell on her knee. I let her go and looked to the sky. “It stopped…” I whispered. When I looked around me, I saw the piled snow was starting to melt.

“You…” said the girl. She was panting. “Don’t you miss your mother..?”

Her question was a shock for me. “W-what do you mean?”

“I know you…” said the girl. “I don’t have to answer anything, and you don’t have to explain anything either…” She looked up at me, right through my eyes. This time, she smiled her sweet smile. “Your mother sent her love to you…”

I felt my blood turned cold.

“Hurry…” said the girl suddenly. “It’s all over now… I lost… and your dear comrade needs your help, I guess…”

Her words pulled me back to consciousness. I turned to find Kouyou and Takashima. To my surprise, the Knight of Swords and the living blood were already nowhere to be found. When I looked to Kouyou, I saw the ice that confined him was starting to melt. I snapped The High Priestess card to tear down all of the walls. I immediately ran toward Takashima.

“D-Darling!” he called. “Are you okay?”

“I’m okay…” I said as I helped him to stand.

“The Empress…” Takashima said as he looked the girl that still on her knee. “You’ve made it…”

I didn’t answer him. I only guided him to the girl. There, the girl was only looking to the ground.

“Adelaide…” Takashima called. “You already feel the freedom, right? Now, it’s time for you to get back to where you belong…”

I could see the girl smiled a sad smile. “Anything…” said the girl. “If in any way you get any information about my child… please… I beg you… let me know…”

Takashima smiled. “We’ll try our best…”

Takashima put his opened palm in front of the girl’s face. The girl just closed her eyes when some kind of haze vaporized from her body. Takashima then took a blank card from his pocket and held the card above the girl's head. The card then absorbed the haze. I kneeled as fast as I could and caught the girl when she fell unconscious. I saw when the card done in absorbing all the haze. Takashima kneeled beside me and he let me looked at the card in his hand.

“The Empress…” I said as I read the writing on the card.

“She’s the mother of nature…” Takashima answered; smiling. “Come on, Darling… Kouyou still needs our held. The ice is already melted, but he’s still unconscious…”

I looked at Kouyou. “Is he really okay?” After freezing for the blizzard attack like before, I’ve never think that someone could actually survived. But watching Takashima talked to me this calm, I guess I don’t have to be too worried about Kouyou’s condition.

“Just call Reita…” Takashima said. “You have his number, right, Darling? We need more hands here. And I think Reita is still awake right now…”

Takashima’s right. We do need more people. I took my cellphone from my pocket and dialed Reita’s number. After he picked up, I explained our position and told him about our condition as simple as I could. I just want him to be here as soon as possible. We could explain the details after he get here, right? But suddenly, Reita asked.

“By the way, Aoi…”

“Yeah?” I’m panting.

“Are you okay?”

I laughed. “I’m okay. Just get here already..!”

“Okay! Wait for me, ‘kay? I’ll be there in a sec!” With that, Reita ended the conversation.

“He’ll come?” Takashima asked.

I nodded. And I could only nod; because not long after that, I lost my consciousness.

____....++++****++++….____

A/N: THERE! I’ll wrap it like this. So, how do you think about this chapter? It was hard for Aoi. But he made it! Yay! \(^o^)/ ..There will be several explanations about the Arcana Power (and the cards) at the next chapter. Is it okay? (o> <)o

And for you, v_meilie, I’m sorry for taking this long to update. It’s not that I don’t want to write. I just have some…mm…how to say it…”my own pace” to be able to write each of the chapter (and some errands if I may add..orz). You know, sometimes mood can be so not cooperative. Those muses sometime just need a picnic just when I need them. LOL
Again, sorry for the wait! *bow* (;> <)

And for all of you, your critics and comments are SO MUCH LUV! ~♥ thank you very much! :-*
