AO3 Hits Meme, Redux

dira_sudisrecently posted about how her top 10 AO3 stories (by number of hits) have changed over the past year. Sounded interesting, so I thought I'd try it.

For comparison's sake, here is my my Top Ten Meme a year ago.

LOL, I just went and checked my stats and my top ten are all Acoustics. Go figure.

I read and enjoy all kinds of dark, fucked-up fic. So please take it as the high compliment that it is when I tell you, whenever an Acoustic ficlet pops up on my friend's list, I get a little physical shudder of horror, trying NOT to think about what that Sam is doing to Dean.

::looks at sad and commentless AO3 fics:: A little number crunching shows - only 9 of 42 stories got any reaction. Most Read Stories in this order: SPN PWP Kink, Southland, SPN FutureFic, SPN PWP Kink. I see a pattern! :D (and I think Southland fic is rarer overall so it gets more attention per fic). Most commented fic BY FAR (and that's only just above your 1:10 ratio, at 14%) is a drabble, about Adam, one I don't even consider particularly well-written. I'm not sure it's more or less than LJ, since we never know the hits an LJ story gets.

Oh, LOADs of my 157 fics have no comments or kudos. Probably more than half of them. I'll have a look, when I have time. Mostly older Highlander fics that I'm reposting, but some newer ones, too. All of them have some hits, though. If '3' counts as some.

YES! For some reason "3" seems to be where most of them stop. :D I should move my BigBangs over there. That's a summer project, along with re-making the now-Megauploaded-To-Nowhere soundtracks.

Oh, you really should, especially since the AO3 automatically provides downloads in multiple formats for e-readers!
