I had the same problem with my remix author (except the multifandom part) but I've picked one and got a pretty decent start on a concept.

God, your spnland writing challenge fic sounds awesomely bad!
Just the Impala kidnapped to be Oberon's consort bit has me chomping at the bit to read it, never mind the tentacles and the sparkly spandex leotards!
