the Death Cab for Cutie and Ok Go show last night was very good.
but let me start from the beginning.
while we were waiting in line, some guy comes up and says "who wants to meet the band?" so of course I figured that he would just give the tickets he had to the people in front of us. but he asked them to guess what radio station he was with (or what radio station they listened to. I don't remember) they all said these really random stations. and I popped up and said b97 because I know they're always giving stuff away. and I was right. so they guy gave me 2 free tickets. so Gin and I, along with 6 or 7 other people, got to go inside before the show and meet Death Cab. I was just mainly excited to meet Ben Gibbard. that was great. kinda awkward though. then we got these black and white pictures autographed and took a picture with the whole band.
I wound up giving one of the tickets to Fernando and one to Rob. I was kinda shocked that no one was trying to buy tickets for this sold out show.
Ok Go was alright. the singer looks just like Jason from Acceptance, I swear. anyways, their set was ok. I prefer their recorded stuff though. but they did their little dance at the end, and that was hillarious.
Death Cab played forever, then came back for a 4 song encore which started off with "I Will Follow You Into The Dark". that was amazing. Ben sounded so good. they seemed to play a good bit of stuff that I didn't know, though. but it was cool. about mid-set I got tired of standing in the front, so I just hung out back by the bar. the front is only fun for about half of the show. and it was so packed. but then again, it's DCFC at tiny little republic
