these are my thoughts written down on paper

tonight was so amazing.

let me start from the beginning.

Lamar, Rachel, and I got to the Parish at around 7:10. luckily Greg was there, so we cut in line. I wasn't expecting so many people, but there was definitely a lot. the doors opened at 7:30 and Cartel went on at 8. they put on a good show musically, but they definitely lack stage presence. I saw them back in '05 with The Rocket Summer and they were actually more entertaining. I was in a bad mood during their set though for random reasons. but luckily I was able to make my way to the very front and againt the barricade. New Found Glory took forever to set up. but I didn't mind. they started the show off with "All Downhill From Here". it definitely got everyone pumped. we kept feeling the baricades move slightly. (which made sort of a v shape. so therefore we weren't close to the stage. not even reaching distance) we kept being pushed forward, but I really didn't think it would keep up. and what do you know. the baricades break and I'm all up against the stage. that was actually really fun. Jordan was in my face singing for most of that song, and I could have grabbed any of them (if anyone would ever even do that...) the HOB people wanted to put the barricade back how it was, but Chad convinced them that it would just keep moving forward. so they left it alone and went back to playing. I was so pumped during that show. I sang every word and was more into it then any show I have ever been to. I sang at the top of my lungs. I never do that at shows. and I clapped along, had my arms up, the whole deal. I never do that either. it was just so fun. at one point the baricade started being pushed too much at the top, so the bottom of the barricades wound up coming up under us, and I was almost lying on the stage. it started hurting because of the bars and luckily they stopped shortly after they started one of the songs so we could fix it. I just really wasn't expecting all of that barricade mess to happen, but I'm sure as hell glad it did. I was within reaching distance of Jordan, Chad, and Ian most of the show. some of Jordan's sweat got on me when he was about 2 inches from my face (it's gross, but it just illustrates how close I was).

New Found Glory has been one of my favorite bands since I bought their self titled back in 2000. they started getting me into better music, actually. I've spent the past 6 (almost 7) years listening to them, and I finally got to see them and be that close, have Jordan singing in my face, and have the best show experience ever. I'm pretty sure only Brand New could make me this happy show wise.

I grabbed the setlist right when the show ended and got them all (minus Steve) to sign it. they were all really nice guys. Cyrus actually stayed outside and talked with everyone for awhile. and all of the others just kept going in and out of the bus. I also got Jordan to write the chorus of "Truth of my Youth" on some flyer I found. I wasn't sure if I was going to get him to do it, but I'm glad I did. I got Ian to make him come out of the bus and he wrote the whole chorus (which is actually kind of long). I thought that was really awesome of him. it seemed like he was writing for an hour though. so I'm thankful he took the time and did that. and after telling Ian how much fun I had, etc, he reached in his pocket and gave me possibly the greatest pic. it says Pooh Found Glory on one side (with a picture of winnie the pooh) and Jew Found Glory on the other side (with a picture of a dreidel). ok, maybe it's not the funniest thing in the world, but I think it's cute.

I don't think I have ever rambled this much about a show before, so forgive me. I'm just really happy. this was the best show I have ever been to because I had so much fun. and that's really all that matters, right?
