"New Republic" - a new show from Aaron Sorkin, creator of "West Wing". BEWARE: this is very political, and very anti-GOP and anti-Drumpf. Don't read if that bothers you. Thanks.

The United States has never faced a more damaging threat: its new president. A man more interested in cozying up to dictators, alienating allies, lining his own pockets, circumventing the Constitution, and dismantling all progress from his predecessors.
An ensemble cast, "The New Republic" follows the journey of the newest members of Congress as they fight to preserve our country, its laws, its people, and its values - and hold the corrupt President and his administration accountable for their actions.

Description
Andrea LondoU.S. Representative
Mía Santos Álvarez
The newest - and youngest - member of the House, Santos Álvarez is a Democrat who hails from the Bronx. She is smart, savvy, and empathetic. Winning her district with a historic 79% of the vote, her ancestry, youth, and outspoken personality are particularly irksome to Grant and the GOP, who are currently pushing anti-immigrant and anti-social programs agenda designed to promote white nationalism.
Nikohl BoosheriU.S. Representative
Hafsa Al-Amin
Another new member of the House, Al-Amin comes from the Midwest. An Iranian-born refuge whose family fled to the States when she was 5 months old, she is a legal immigrant who loyally practices her Muslim faith. This is also at odds with the Grant administration, as they have tried enacting multiple bans against Islamic countries (excluding ones Grant does business with), claiming they are terrorist breeding grounds.
Annette BeningSpeaker of the House
Kate Jeffery
Previous Speaker of the House who returned to her position during the last election when Democrats regained the House. Under her tenure, the House passed more bills than under any other Speaker. She spearheaded the landmark Healthcare bill, and upon being re-elected as Speaker she immediately set out to pass new legislation designed to help citizens, as well as curtail Grant's corruption and dismantling of the government. She is under extreme pressure from constituents and fellow Democrat House members to start hearings and impeachment procedings against Grant and his administration.
James WoodsSenate Majority Leader
Mack Stevenson
Stevenson is the longest serving Republican in Congress. From the South, he brags his proudest accomplishments were blocking any and all legislation from the previous black President, yet now acts outraged when Democrats use the same tactics against Grant. He blocks all current House bills which he knows Grant will veto, including bills the Senate has enough to override.
Chuck WooleryU.S. President
Garrison "Gary" Grant
A narcissistic former game show host and businessman in real estate, Grant has a history strewn with bankruptcies, ethics violations, fraud, corruption, sexual harrassment, criminal investigations, tax evasion, using slave labor, reneging on contracts, housing discrimination, and possible mob ties. His presidency is widely considered illegitimate as evidence piles up that he solicited foreign interference (especially from Russia) to manipulate the election. He has turned the White House and its administration into the new
Tammany Hall. He is revered as Godly by Evangelicals - despite his 3 divorces, multiple affairs, and no record of ever regularly attending a church before announcing his candidacy.
Editor's note: The characters of Grant and Stevenson had to be recast after the pilot, due to the off-screen behavior of the actors which forced the studio to fire them.
